'Brand new Retro!' This EP from Dave Wallace (one third of Aquasky) represents a mood and a vibe fused from Dave's love of electronic music and early drum and bass / jungle which he has been a fan and producer of since 1992.
'It's emotional!' Dave's first solo release for 20+ years is the result of an emotional journey back to the land of atmospheric, jazzy vibes via classic rolling beats, 808 and sub-bass lines, nice!
'Echoes of Speed' was inspired by a visit to the classic 'Speed' night @ The Mars Bar, London back in 1995. 'Brent, Keiron and myself went to Speed for the first time pretty soon after forming Aquasky, we had given out a few DATs of our first track 'Desires' (Moving Shadow) and as we walked into the club, we heard Desires being played! Probably by Fabio or Bukem. Was such an incredible feeling hearing your first track being played out in a club that optimised the music scene I loved'. 'I had this drum and bass itch I needed to scratch!'
The catalyst to produce new material was sparked by recent interest in Dave's early releases prior to Aquasky under the Fugitive and Mad Dog aliases — recorded with Shaun O'Hara for the Underdog label back in the early 90's. Due to demand, these have been reissued via https://www.vinylfanatiks.co.uk/ which is run by Brent Aquasky.
As well as producing tunes as Aquasky with Brent and Kieron, recently for the Technique and Basswerk labels, Dave has released the 'Widescreen Electronica', sample pack: https://www.loopmasters.com/genres/139-Synthwave/products/7506-Dave-Wallace-Widescreen-Electronica
